Based off Hobson Moor Road on the hills between Stalybridge and Mottram, this is quite a short but scenic walk popular with the locals. In terms of parking there's plenty of pull in spots down Hobson Moor Road where you can park. Also a short distance away is a nice pub called the Wagon and Horses, the site of the Mottram Frog and Bees Coffee Pot.
Things to Note About the Route
Although not a particularly long walk it's got some fairly uneven ground, and goes past some fairly hefty drops you'll have to watch your step around. I would say this is better as a walk on a dry day when it hasn't been raining for a bit to give you an easier time. There's a reasonable gradient, but nothing too steep.
If you're after a bigger adventure, there's quite a few trails that go off towards Tintwistle, Stalybridge Country Park and Carrbrook that are worth an explore.

Bonfire Night and New Years Eve
Not really part of the general walk, but the views from this hill over Stalybridge are excellent for watching various fireworks displays across Greater Manchester, but make sure to get there early to grab a spot as it's pretty popular.
Views of Tintwistle
On the assent (if taking the walk in an anti-clockwise direction) you'll see some beautiful views of Tintwistle and the Longdendale Reservoirs to your right.
Views of Manchester
On your descent (if taking the walk in an anti-clockwise direction) you'll have some wonderfully unobstructed views of Manchester city centre.
Hobson Moor Quary
The site of an old quarry is now used by local climbers, if you're into that sort of thing it's worth a visit for that alone.
