Hello, and welcome to Loki 7, dreaming in the shade since '99. Feel free to browse around the site and take a look at the works published within the writing archive, photos in the gallery or just generally nosey at what's around here.

The news on the front page is usually updated on a regular basis and everytime a new feature is added to the site, or a new artical a news update is posted. To help you keep upto date with all the latest news on the site the news has an RSS feed attached to it that is availble in two formats, the first is a straight RSS Feed that you can subscribe to, the second is a syndicated account on Livejournal that you can subscribe to and it will place news updates on your friends page. Read on for the latest news regarding Loki 7.

Updated my portfolio page and updated the layout of the photo album. Should really get round to adding some more photos to that at some point tbh.

"The Heart of Lancashire"

So, the Wednesday just gone I went out on a little trip into the Lancashire countryside, up near a place called Stubbins and Ramsbottom. Took forever to get there but was worth it, was a beautiful place, even if it is surrounded by motorway on two sides and hills the other two. The village itself was in a little valley and had the most awesome little shop in it, not only did it sell corner shop kindda things but they made fresh sandwiches, pies and cream cakes ^_^

Aside from that all the parks and fields had wicker men in them which was a little creepy at first until you got used to them:

There was some beautiful views though, along with some interesting buildings and such:

After wandering around Stubbins and the surrounding area, decided to then head into the local town of Ramsbottom (mainly because I didn't have any cash to catch a bus and that was the nearest cash machine xD) where we went for a pub lunch in the main square and also encountered a giant urn sat in the middle of the square. Also there was a placed called "Chocolate Cafe" which I had to be dragged out of >_>;;.

While there we found out there was an authentic steam train that went from Ramsbottom to Bury (where we needed to go to catch the tram home), so thought, why not catch it back. It journey took about 15 mins and was amazing. We got our own little booth and everything.

So that was my day out, also has anyone else noticed that pretty much every town in Lancashire claims to be "In the Heart of Lancashire", or is it just me? To view the route I took on Google Maps click here, and to view more photos, along with larger versions of the ones posted click here.

So got back from Alton Towers not too long ago from a weekend trip there, was amazing fun even though I don't think I was off my feet for very long *rubs sore feet*, still amazing weekend there! I'll do a proper write-up of it another time, for now some photos are below and to view the full gallery click here. A selection are posted below ^_^

Loki 7 Version 78 Released

So I've finished updating my websites style to version 78 (Blaze Blue). Based off the previous style (Windmile) and a quick sketch I produced the following wireframe in photoshop:

From there I coded the new template up using hard-coded CSS before moving the CSS into an external stylesheet which has produced the following design:

Still got bits to finish updating and to add but I think it came out quite well?

NB: Site should be standards compliant and cross-browser compliant along with working well in resolutions 1024 and above, however with the LJ import component that I use for the front page the standards compliant bit might break sometimes due to the nasty way I have to do it :/ Also I need to work on the mobile stylesheet for resolutions below 1024 again since the old one was designed for the prev style in mind.
